29 TRESPASSERS DETAINED IN AZERBAIJAN LAST MONTH
Baku, September 16 (AZERTAC). 16 cases of illegal border crossing were prevented by the employees of the State Border Service and 29 people were detained in August, press service of the State Border Service reported.
Of them 11 are citizens of Azerbaijan, 4 persons from each of the following countries - Islamic Republic of Iran, Georgia, Afghanistan, 3 from Bangladesh, 2 from Russian Federation and 1 citizen of Kyrgyzstan. 80 trespassers were detained in the 36 cases. 79 wanted persons were detained and handed over to law enforcement.
As a result measures against illicit drug turnover, 8 kilograms 378,4 grams of drugs were found and confiscated in 15 cases within the month.
As a result of anti-smuggle operations, smuggling in the amount of 264 thousand AZN in 68 cases, as well as a caliber 9 mm gun, 1 cartridge clip, 3 cartridges, 1 single-barrelled gun, 3 brass knuckles, 3 daggers, 53900 US currency, 1 carpet, 313 mobile phones, 542 mobile accessories, 1221 cigarettes, 14 DVD, 1144 medical equipments, various alcoholic beverages and other industrial goods were seazed.
