92 YEARS ELAPSE SINCE LIBERATION OF BAKU
Baku, September 15 (AZERTAC). 92 years pass since the Caucasus Islam Army led by Nuru Pasha liberated Baku from the occupation of bolshevik-dashnak armed units.
The Embassy of Turkey in Baku and representatives of several public unions commemorated the memory of the Turkish soldiers erected at the Alley of Martyrs in Baku.
The Turkish soldiers have died in the bloody battles against bolshevik-dashnak armed troops in 1918.
After the state anthems of Azerbaijan and Turkey were performed, the memory of the Turkish soldiers was commemorated with a moment of silence, and put flowers on their graves.
Turkish ambassador to Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic signed the Memory Book and spoke of the heroism and courage the Turkish soldiers showed in Baku and other regions of Azerbaijan in 1918.
Some 1130 Turkish soldiers of the Turkic Army have sacrificed their lives here in those distant years.
