By joining the initiative, Veyseloglu is committed to aligning its operations and strategies with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 10 universal principles in the areas of human rights, labor, environment, and anti-corruption. The company aims to further enhance its environmental protection efforts, social responsibility programs, and transparent governance practices.
In his address, Aydin Talibov emphasized that this step is fully aligned with the company’s long-term strategic vision:
“Today, we are not merely signing a document — we are committing to creating a more ethical, equitable, and sustainable business environment for future generations. Corporate culture, environmental responsibility, transparent governance, and inclusive development have become integral to our business philosophy over the past 30 years. We are now determined to carry these values to a global level.”
Samir Mammadov, UN Global Compact Representative in Azerbaijan, highlighted the importance of this development for the sector:
“Veyseloglu’s accession to the UN Global Compact marks a significant milestone for Azerbaijan’s retail sector. The commitment of a company with such broad operational reach is a landmark moment for promoting sustainable development values within the country’s business community. We highly value this partnership and encourage other companies to follow suit.”
