AGREEMENT ON TURKEY-GREECE-ITALY GAS PIPELINE TO BE RE-SIGNED
Azerbaijan will join the intergovernmental agreement on gas pipeline construction signed July 26, 2007 by Turkey, Greece and Italy, Turkish Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Hilmi Guler said in his address during discussions on the next year`s budget at the Grand National Assembly of Turkey. According to him, it will be followed by signing a new agreement.
Minister noted the pipeline to be commissioned in 2013 will be transporting 12 billion cubic meters of gas, of which 3.6 bln cm will go to Greece and 8.4 bln cm to Italy.
Guler pointed out work on the Nabucco project will be continued. This pipeline is scheduled to carry 25-31 billion cm of gas.
Turkish Minister said Baku-Tbilisi-Erzerum is the important basis of all major gas pipeline projects. A total of 3.8 billion cubic meters of gas was purchased via this pipeline.
Guler noted Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan has transported over 500 mln barrels of crude since June 4, 2006.
