AGRICULTURUAL PRODUCTION GROWTH MADE 3,6 %
Baku, 2 December (AZERTAC). In agrarian sector of Azerbaijan harvest comes to an end.
For November 1, the farmers have collected from the fields 2 million 986,8 thousand tons of grain, 970,3 thousand tons of potato, 1 million 152,4 thousand tons of vegetables, 584,1 thousand tons of fruit and berries, 409 thousand tons of melons and gourds, 108,1 thousand tons of grapes, 2,5 thousand tons of tobacco, 119,1 thousand tons of sugar beet, 372,7 tons of fresh green tea leaves, the State Stats Committee said. For November 2, some 22,1 thousand tons of cotton has been collected and sent to the processing enterprises.
Despite reduction of potato production, vegetables and cotton, as a whole, volume of crop production output has increased by 4,2 percent, and grain production reached record indicator.
Along with crop production, the cattle-breeding production dynamically increases. From early 2009, it was produced 254,2 thousand tons of meat (in live weight), 1 million 190,4 thousand tons of milk, 991,8 million pieces of eggs and 14,8 thousand tons of wool.
The successes achieved both in crop production and cattle-breeding, promoted increase, as a whole, of production in agriculture for 3,6 percent.
