Ambassador: Iran, Azerbaijan transit increases by 15% in recent months

Baku, November 16, AZERTAC

Iran's Ambassador to the Republic of Azerbaijan said that the transit between Iran and the Republic of Azerbaijan in recent months has increased by 15%, according to Mehr News Agency.

Seyyed Abbas Mousavi made the remarks in a meeting with the head of the Iran-Azerbaijan Joint Chamber of Commerce in Ardabil.

In the meeting, the Iranian ambassador voiced his happiness with the new trend of relations between Tehran and Baku.

He added that despite some unwelcome tensions in the past, the relations between the two countries have been developing in recent months so that "during this period, we saw an increase in the volume of trade and transit between the two countries."

"Soon, several joint transportation and energy projects will be put into operation in the presence of the high-ranking officials of the two countries," the ambassador added.
