Azerbaijan attract $3.7 billion in foreign direct investment

“During the first six months of 2026, the volume of foreign direct investments attracted to Azerbaijan’s economy amounted to $3.666 billion, with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Türkiye, Cyprus, Russia, and the Islamic Republic of Iran as top five investor countries,” said Samir Nasirov, Director of the Statistics Department at the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, at a briefing dedicated to the balance of payments report in the first six months of the year.
During the reporting period, the volume of foreign direct investments Azerbaijan made into foreign economies amounted to $5.36 billion.
According to him, Italy, Türkiye, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, the United Arab Emirates, and Georgia are among the top five destinations.
