Azerbaijan, Georgia discuss cooperation in patent sphere
Baku, January 19 (AZERTAC). Chairman of the National Intellectual Property Center of Georgia “Sakpatenti” Irakli Gvaladze has met with chairman of the Azerbaijan State Committee for Standardization, Metrology and Patent Ramiz Hasanov.
Ramiz Hasanov highlighted the high level development of the patent system in Azerbaijan stressing the application of the new technologies and innovations and increasing of local exporters.
Mr. Hasanov noted increasing of appeals for legal protection of industrial property objects underlining the use of Korea`s practice for the development of the field.
“The project “Automation of Intellectual Property Rights Management” is being successfully implemented in the committee.”
Azeri chairman also stressed the importance of boosting cooperation with Georgia in the mutual recognition and protection of traditional brands, commodity signs and geographical names and said that it would be better to sign bilateral agreement to the effect.
Irakli Gvaladze, in his turn, spotlighted the bilateral cooperation in patent sphere.
He underlined that Sakpatenti is interested in the improvement of legal mechanisms in the use of geographical names.
