AZERBAIJAN KEEN IN INTENSIFICATION OF CO-OP WITH UAE
Greeting the visitors, Mr. Mammadyarov said the leadership of Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with the United Arab Emirates in numerous fields.
The Minister highlighted on the country’s geo-political position, informing on socio-economic development of Republic, the large-scale regional projects being implemented and brought to his notice presence of the opportunities of cooperation between two countries. Noting that the Azerbaijan management pays special attention to the development of non-oil sector, he emphasized importance of strengthening co-op in this direction.
The United Arab Emirates gives particular importance to relations with Azerbaijan, Sheikh Saqr Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi said. “My country is interested in cooperation in the field of production of construction materials, pharmacology, telecommunications and others”. The guest promised to lift the question of opening of the embassy of UAE in Azerbaijan shortly to expand cooperation between two states.
Touching upon the negotiations carried out for settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh, Minister Mammadyarov stressed possibility of settlement of the problem only in the frame of international legal principles, inviolability of borders.
In the meeting, also were exchanged views on a number of other questions.
