Azerbaijan, Pakistan to expand navy cooperation
Baku, November 12 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov has met with Pakistan`s Navy Commander, Admiral Asim Samdani to discuss cooperation between the two countries.
According to Azerbaijan Embassy in Pakistan, Dashgin Shikarov congratulated Samdani on his appointment and wished him success.
Azeri diplomat also expressed his gratitude to Pakistani government for support to Azerbaijan on election to the United Nations Security Council.
Shikarov said Azerbaijan always supports Pakistan on international arena. He in particular, underlined Pakistan`s support to Azerbaijan in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
Shikarov thanked Pakistan for organization of due educational facilities of the country of skills raising courses for Azerbaijani officers stressing the cooperation between the two countries in navy field.
In his turn, Samdani said that Pakistan will always support Azerbaijan, especially in the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict. He also congratulated Azerbaijan on election to UN Security Council.
Samdani noted Azerbaijani observers` participation in international exercises held in Karachi this year. He also reminded his visit to Azerbaijan in 2003 stressing the importance of boosting cooperation in naval sphere between the countries.
