Azerbaijani Ambassador meets Pakistan`s Foreign Minister
Baku, November 18 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan`s Ambassador to Pakistan Dashgin Shikarov has met with the country`s Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar.
The sides discussed current situation of Azerbaijan-Pakistan relations. Azerbaijani Ambassador pointed out existence of high level political ties, adding importance of boosting these ties in economic sphere, as well.
Shikarov thanked Pakistani government for their support of Azerbaijan`s position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The diplomat also congratulated Pakistan on its election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council.
Ambassador Shikarov briefed the Pakistani Minister on preparatory works of the fifth meeting of Azerbaijan-Pakistan intergovernmental commission due in Baku on December 6-7.
For her part, Rabbani Khar described Azerbaijan`s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council as a great success of country`s foreign policy.
The Pakistani Minister also touched on economic relations between the two countries, noting the sides have opportunity to cooperate in energy, light industry, pharmaceutics, agriculture and other spheres.
