Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry condemns Radio Liberty for promoting separatist regime
Baku, January 22, AZERTAC
Spokesman for the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry Hikmet Hajiyev has commented on the visit of an employee of the Radio Free Europe / Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) to Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia.
Hikmet Hajiyev said a news release published on azadliqradiosu.az on 5 January 2015 said Margot Buff, who was introduced as an employee of RFE/RL, had made a visit to Azerbaijani territories occupied by Armenia and taken photographs there.
According to him, RFE/RL sending its employee to occupied territories of the Republic of Azerbaijan without an official permission from the state is illegal, and it also means violation of the law on the state border of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
“Such a biased action by RFE/RL is just another example of its disrespect to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Azerbaijan and inviolability of its internationally recognized borders. RFE/RL, which has always stood out with its indifferent and careless attitude toward Armenian aggression and invasion against Azerbaijan, the problems of more than a million Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs as well as issues of our citizens taken hostage by Armenia, promotes the illegal regime created in the occupied Azerbaijani territories and the results of the occupation and aggression, offending Azerbaijani refugees and IDPs,” he added.
If authenticated, that person will be included in the list of “undesirable persons”, Hikmet Hajiyev noted.
