Azerbaijani parliamentarians to attend 10th session of OIC Parliamentary Union

A delegation of Azerbaijani parliamentarians led by Speaker Ogtay Asadov will leave tomorrow for Istanbul to attend the 10th session of the Parliamentary Union of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).
The Azerbaijani delegation will include a number of officials, as well as MPs Govhar Bakhshaliyeva, Mirkazim Kazimov, Sabir Rustamkhanli and head of the Milli Majlis Administration Safa Mirzayev.
The session will include ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the OIC and its Parliamentary Union. The attendees will also discuss documents presented by the specialized committees of the organization.
Speaker of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov is expected to make a speech during the session, and to meet with heads of some delegations.
As part of the 4-day visit, the Azerbaijani MPs will attend meetings of the organization`s committees on political affairs and foreign relations, economic affairs and environment, human rights, woman and family affairs, cultural and legal issues and dialogue between civilizations and religions.
The session will also include discussions on “Respond to the problems of the 21st century: Global peace, justice, stability and security”, the occupation of Azerbaijani territories by Armenia, struggle against terrorism, simplification of visa issues between the Islamic states, increase of trade, protection of Islamic cultural heritage.
The visit will end on January 23.
