AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT ‘DEMONSTRATING VERY CONSTRUCTIVE POSITION’ ON NAGORNO-KARABAKH TALKS
Baku, September 8 (AZERTAC). The President of the Dutch Senate has praised the Azerbaijani leader`s position on the negotiations to find a peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Rene van der Linden, who is on a visit in Baku, told journalists President Ilham Aliyev was showing “a very constructive” position on the issue.
“The Azerbaijani leader`s stance must be an example to others.”
Van der Linden reiterated the Netherlands` backing of “a peaceful and just solution” to the conflict.
The Dutch Senate`s President said unsettlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can escalate tensions in the region.
On the Azerbaijan-Netherlands relations, Van der Linden said “we are keen to strengthen and develop our friendship”.
“This is my third visit to Azerbaijan during which we will discuss the bilateral cooperation in the political and economic fields.”
He praised the role of parliaments in developing the bilateral relations, expressing confidence the visit would also contribute to boosting cooperation between the two countries` legislative bodies.
