Azerbaijan’s beach wrestlers win eight medals at World Championship in Baku

Azerbaijan’s beach wrestlers excelled at the U17 World Championship in Baku, winning eight medals.
In the men’s competition, Eljan Hasanov and Nihat Suleymanli claimed world titles in the 60kg and 80kg weight categories, respectively.
Alirza Heybatli (60kg) and Elgun Karimli (90kg) clinched silver medals, while Tunar Guliyev (70kg) and Ruslan Valiyev (80kg) secured bronze medals.
In the women’s competition, Rena Nuriyeva (65kg) grabbed silver, while Simura Abdullayeva (75kg) claimed bronze.
Azerbaijan topped the women’s team standings, while the men’s team finished second. Iran took first place in the overall team standings, with Senegal finishing third.
The U17 World Beach Wrestling Championship was held at the Sea Breeze resort.
