AZERI MPS MEET DUTCH COUNTERPARTS
Baku, July 5 (AZERTAC). Members of the Azerbaijan Milli Majlis committee on foreign relations and interparliamentary ties have met today here a group of Dutch parliamentarians.
Chair of the committee Samad Seyidov briefed the Dutch parliamentarians on the workings of the Milli Majlis. Seyidov stressed the importance of development of relationship between the Azerbaijani and Dutch parliaments.
Seyidov praised the fact that the Azerbaijani and Dutch parliamentarians share the same position on some issues.
Head of the delegation Henk Jan Ormel said the purpose of the visit was to discuss how to develop relationship between the two countries including interparliamentary ties.
He said Netherlands well understands the geostrategic position of Azerbaijan in the South Caucasus region and the country`s importance for Europe. He added his country was keen on all-round cooperation with Azerbaijan.
The sides also discussed the ongoing preparations for the upcoming parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan, exchange of experience in the legislative sphere, organization of reciprocal visits, the role of the parliamentary diplomacy in strengthening ties between the peoples of Azerbaijan and Netherlands.
