AZERI PREMIER MEETS SYRIAN MINISTER OF PETROLEUM AND MINERAL RESOURCES
Baku, June 30 (AZERTAC). Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Artur Rasizade has met today Syrian delegation led by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources and co-chairman of a Syria-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission Sufian Allaw.
Rasizade described Syria as a “friendly and fraternal country” for Azerbaijan.
He said Azerbaijan-Syria relations were deeply rooted in history, adding the two countries had great opportunities to boost bilateral ties. The Prime Minister particularly noted economic cooperation between the two countries had recently intensified. “The first meeting of the Syria-Azerbaijan intergovernmental commission is vivid evidence to this.”
For his part, Sufian Allaw said his country was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan. He recalled the intergovernmental agreements signed during Syrian President Bashar al-Assad`s official visit to Azerbaijan. The Syrian minister also pointed out his country was keen on purchasing Azerbaijan`s gas. He underlined a council of private companies of Azerbaijan and Syria was planned to be established to ensure making mutual investments. He also said an exhibition of industry products would be launched in Syria and Azerbaijan in the near future.
