The so-called Visegrad Kamengrad to be erected next to the legendary stone bridge over the Drina River, which was built in the XVI century. Now this bridge - one of the major tourist attractions in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it is included in the UNESCO World Heritage Site.
It is assumed that Kamengrad become a decoration to the future of film on the novel by Kusturica Nobel laureate Ivo Andric "The Bridge on the Drina". The novel spans more than four centuries, beginning with the heyday of the Ottoman Empire, when the Bosnian territory was part of it, and before the beginning of the XX century. It is expected that the town of Stone will be able to attend 200-300 thousand tourists annually.

The director explained that Kamengrad will be built on an area of 2.5 hectares, while the inner area of the buildings will amount to 14.5 thousand square meters. The city will consist of stone houses and churches of three different faiths, City Hall, hotel, theater, the house-museum Andric, shops, markets, restaurants and a small marina.
The project cost is estimated at 10-15 million euros.
The bulk of funding takes the director himself. Full support to the project is supported by the authorities of Republika Srpska (the entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina). As the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, who was also present at the press conference, the building will breathe in the Visegrad Kamengrada new life.
"We are at the beginning of an ambitious project and I am honored to participate in it. I'm not afraid of failure, I have a huge desire to complete it," - said Dodik.
