CHAIRMAN OF CUSTOMS COMMITTEE MEETS bp CASPIAN’S VICE-PRESIDENT
Aydyn Aliyev has noted, that the "Contract of the Century” signed as a result of a forward-looking policy of national leader Heydar Aliyev in September 1994 in Baku with the largest oil companies of the world is one of extremely important historical moments in political, economic life of Azerbaijan.
Having emphasized, that transportation of oil extracted in the Caspian basin through territory of Azerbaijan possessing favorable geo-politic position, on the world market represents both economic and strategic value from the point of view of development of the Republic, chairman of the Committee ascertained, that the BTC oil pipeline which has turned from a myth in reality, in the near future would be completely put into operation, has highly estimated the work done by the BP Company bp for development of oil sector of the country.
Having touched the links between bp as the largest oil company functioning in Azerbaijan, and the country’s customs bodies, Aydyn Aliyev has noted, that the problems facing to customs bodies in business of realization of oil strategy successfully continued today by President Ilham Aliyev basis of which has been founded by great leader Heydar Aliyev are undertaken a number of measures for customs control and registration, also function the customs points Sahil and Yeni Sahil.
Mr. Phil Home has congratulated Aydyn Aliyev on his appointment to this post and has noted, that the company bp does very important work directed on extraction of early oil after ”The Contract of the Century”, on successful realization of projects in this area. The visitor has stopped on the direct positive links established the last years with the State Customs Committee, has highly estimated mutual cooperation.
Having emphasized, that customs bodies have exclusive role in execution carried out by the bp Company large-scale projects, Phil Home has expressed confidence of the further expansion of long-term business links.
