Embassy of Qatar in Azerbaijan marks country`s national holiday
Baku, December 19 (AZERTAC). The embassy of Qatar in Azerbaijan organized Monday an official reception to mark the country`s national holiday.
Opening the event, ambassador sheikh Mubarak bin Fahad Jassem Al Thani said his country goes through a period of political, economic and cultural changes.
Touching upon bilateral relationship, the diplomat noted “it is developing successfully”. He pointed out friendly relations between Azerbaijan`s President Ilham Aliyev and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani contribute to enhancing bilateral relationship even more.
He also expressed confidence that cooperation between the two countries would deepen in economic, cultural and education spheres, as well.
Transport Minister Ziya Mammadov congratulated the people of Qatar on behalf of President Ilham Aliyev.
He said the visit by President Ilham Aliyev to Doha in 2004 and Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani`s trip to Baku gave a new impetus to expansion of bilateral ties founded by national leader Heydar Aliyev.
Mammadov expressed assurance that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar would continue to strengthen.
The event was attended by officials, MPs, ambassadors and others.
