Ghanaian delegate: We wish our government to adopt Azerbaijan-style “smart villages”
Baku, May 20, AZERTAC
The experience of Azerbaijan’s “smart village” projects has provided valuable insight into how the energy transition can be successfully implemented in other countries. Speaking to AZERTAC, Porcia Idomen-Sanyam, participant of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) from Ghana, said that they aim to encourage their government to implement similar “smart city” and “smart village” initiatives to improve living standards, noting that many communities in their country still lack access to electricity and that ensuring their development is a key priority.
She noted that Azerbaijan’s experience has enabled them to understand the importance of integrating alternative energy sources into modern residential infrastructure, both in terms of improving energy efficiency and reducing poverty.
