Hungary has offered Russia to use its gas storage

Hungary in search of an alternative pipeline "South Stream", the construction of which last year was stopped Russia, Moscow offered to use their gas storage facilities, said the country's Foreign Minister Peter Siyyarto.
"The more gas is stored here, the better for us - in terms of both the economy and energy security," - said the politician, reports Deutsche Welle.
Provision of natural gas storage facilities in Hungary is one of the ways to guarantee access to Russian gas after the abolition of the pipeline "South Stream".
Now, according to Siyyarto, the authorities intend to intensify negotiations with Turkey, Greece, Macedonia and Serbia on the construction of a new gas pipeline in Central Europe. In addition, Hungary is considering options to import gas from Azerbaijan and Croatia through the LNG terminal.
In 2014, Gazprom has used the Hungarian storage, uploading there 700 million cubic meters of gas. In this case, the Hungarian authorities emphasize that not going to sell storage Russia.
Russian President Vladimir Putin 1 last December said that the country can not in the present circumstances to continue implementation of the "South Stream". Instead, Moscow and Ankara have agreed to build an offshore gas pipeline to Turkey. Meanwhile, the cooperation between Hungary and Russia in the energy sector raises concerns from the West.
