Iraq’s Foreign Ministry issues statement over Azerbaijan Airlines’ plane crash

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iraq has issued a statement regarding the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger aircraft near Aktau, Kazakhstan.
The statement reads: “The Foreign Ministry of the Republic of Iraq expresses its sincere condolences and sympathies to the government and people of the friendly Republic of Azerbaijan, following the crash of an Azerbaijan Airlines passenger plane, that was traveling from the Azerbaijani capital Baku to Grozny, resulting in the death and injury of several people.
In this unfortunate and tragic incident, the Ministry affirms the Republic of Iraq’s support for Azerbaijan in this difficult time, wishing a speedy recovery for the injured; as well the Ministry reiterates its solidarity with the families of the victims in this painful ordeal.”
