Italy hosts conference on Azerbaijan energy policy
Baku, November 4 (AZERTAC). A seminar entitled “Azerbaijan’s Energy Diplomacy and Western Competition over Caspian Gas” was held in Rome on Wednesday.
The event was organized by the leading research body on international relations in Italy, the Institute for International Affairs.
According to Azerbaijan Embassy in Italy, the ceremony was opened by the director of the Institute for International Relations, Professor Ettore Greco and representative of Italian Unicredit Giuseppe Scognamiglio.
Director of the Centre for Energy and Environment of the Azerbaijan Diplomatic Academy Elnur Soltanov, research director at Control Risks Consulting Center in London Michael Denison, PhD of Turkish Bilkent University Ms. Pinar Ipek, and energy and defense analyst at Rome`s Institute for International Affairs Nicolò Sartori delivered reports in the event.
The reporters provided information on Azerbaijan`s energy policy established with “Contract of the Century” in 1994, projects implemented, transportation of Caspian gas to the world market, Azerbaijan`s role in the regional projects and other issues.
The conference brought together representatives of Italian academic, governmental and business bodies, mass media and diplomatic corps in Rome.
Rome`s Institute for International Affairs organized the meeting on the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict on July 11, 2011.
