Azerbaijan to present its entry in two weeks
Baku, March 6 (AZERTAC). The 2012 Eurovision host nation Azerbaijan will be presenting its Eurovision entry in 2 weeks time. Sabina Babayeva who won the golden ticket to fly the Azerbaijani flag in Baku next May is currently working very hard on the staging of her performance. A special jury will be selecting a song for Sabina, hence their choice and deliberation will be made public in 15 days.
Sabina Babayeva was selected last month to represent Azerbaijan at forthcoming the Eurovision Song Contest next May in Baku. She will be following the footsteps of Ell & Nikki in her quest to defend the triumphant host country and will be bidding to give Azerbaijan a 2nd consecutive Eurovision victory. Sabina is a skilled and multi talented artist who has received awards not only in Azerbaijan but in Russia and Latvia.
Sabina Babayeva graduated from the Asaf Zeynalli Musical College. She is a talented singer, excelling in pop and soul genres, having a great experience in musical ballads. Sabina has also great experience in Jazz music. She has been the soloist for the Aypara vocal instrumental ensemble for more than 7 years. She has performed various locally composed Azerbaijani songs recently.
In 2009 she received the Amberstar award in Latvia and the Grand Prix award in Moscow at the Slavic Star Ceremony. In 2001, she won the Golden Key Contest for young singers.
Since 2008 she has participated consistently in the Azerbaijani National Selections for the Eurovision Song Contest. 2012 has proven to be her lucky year as she will have the great honour to represent Azerbaijan on home soil.
