MINISTER FOR EMERGENCIES VISITS TURKEY
He met here with Head of the Turkey’s Emergency General Directorate Hasan Ipek who informed the Azeri Minister on what the structure does to provide assistance to regions suffered from natural calamities and other emergencies both within and beyond the country’s borders. Mr. Ipek expressed readiness for cooperation with the newly established Ministry for Emergencies of Azerbaijan.
Minister K. Heydarov also met with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkey, Minister of State responsible for sports and youth Mehmet Ali Shahin to discuss prospects of cooperation in the events of disasters and emergencies. The latter noted the documents to be signed during his visit to Azerbaijan scheduled for late April - early May, 2006 would create a favorable ground to enhance the cooperation.
Besides, the Azeri Minister visited the Turkey’s Secretariat General for the National Security Council, Civil Defense Directorate and Golden Crescent Center, as well as met in Ankara with employees of the Azerbaijan’s Embassy to Turkey.
