MM DELEGATION MEETS WITH TURKISH PRESIDENT
In a meeting with the Turkish President Ogtay Asadov touched upon Turkey-Azerbaijan relations and expressed his satisfaction over current bilateral ties. MM speaker noted that the negotiations held and the documents signed during reciprocal visits of the Heads of States of the two countries have laid a solid foundation for development of the Azerbaijan-Turkey cooperation. The two peoples, who have common history, national and religious roots, have always been glad at each other’s success. According to O. Asadov, the time proved that national leader Heydar Aliyev’s saying “on nation, two states” was wise.
Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer expressed hope that this visit will also give an impetus to development of the bilateral cooperation. The Head of the fraternal country said that economic, political, cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two states would keep on rapidly developing from now on. According to N. Sezer, the friendly relations between the two nations have a positive effect on the current state of things in the region.
Then, the meeting focused on the development of the interparliamentary relations and other issues of mutual interest.
