Chairman of the Agrarian Policy Standing Committee, member of the Azerbaijan delegation at PACE Eldar Ibrahimov informed on activity of the Milli Majlis,its cooperation with the international organizations, as well as with the world countries’ parliaments.
Then, Mr. Ibrahimov spoke of the role and position of Azerbaijan in region, the problems it faces, the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno Karabakh conflict, treatment of international organizations concerning the issue. It was stated that the Council of Europe had named Armenia as an aggressor state, and the Nagorno Karabakh authority as separatist regime. And the OSCE PA is expected to adopt a similar resolution. However, some organizations, including the European Parliament under the influence of the Armenian lobby accept erroneous decisions. They too would better accept right and fair decisions.
Jan Brezina said sometimes wrong decisions could be adopted due to shortage of information. The goal of visit, he emphasized, is to collect sufficient data on the ongoing processes in Azerbaijan, its integration to Europe, have exchange of views on development of bilateral relations. And also to get right information connected to Azerbaijan for the European Parliament.
In the meeting, also discussed was a range of questions of mutual interest, stressed the necessity of development of the inter-parliamentary links.
In the meeting, also speaking was head of the Human Rights Standing Committee Rabiyyat Aslanova, deputy head of the Regional Issues Standing Committee Fattah Heydarov.
