Bahar Muradova spoke of the history of relations between Azerbaijan and UN, the country’s cooperation with separate structures of Organization, appraising the role of the UN Population Fund with the country. ‘Azerbaijan is keen in development of links with such authoritative world organization and does everything for this' she stressed.
Annet Birgitte Albrectsen said the UN Population Fund closely watches the processes ongoing in Azerbaijan, the reforms to solve the problems of people, in particular, of the children and youth, as well as the women, and attaches great importance to development of co-op in this direction. According to her, the UNFPA (the United Nations Fund for Population Activities) has prepared projects connected to children, youth and gender equity. ‘The Organization stands ready to render any assistance to implement these projects in Azerbaijan and improve the country’s legislature”, she emphasized.
Vice-speaker of Milli Majlis updated the guest on the laws adopted in the Parliament, connected to protection of the rights of children youth and women, on the new bills to be adopted and the ongoing reforms in the country.
The sides also focused other issues, including the problems and ways of their settlement, as well as exchanged views on a number of other questions.
