Preparation begins for 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue

Baku, July 31 (AZERTAC). The International working group of the 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue comprising of representatives from Azerbaijan, UNESCO, ISESCO, UN Alliance of Civilizations, World Tourism Organization, the Council of Europe and the North-South Center of the Council of Europe began preparatory works.

The 2nd World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue will take place in Baku from May 9 to June 1 2013, press-service of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism said.

The First World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue supported by the above listed organizations took place in Baku, from April 7-9 2011. The event brought together delegates from 102 countries, heads from more than 10 international organizations, 20 ministers, employees of the “brain centers” and media-structures, in all about 500 persons.

In accordance with the executive order of President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, May 27, 2011, the World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue is held once every two years in Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism is responsible for its holding.
