‘Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are developing rapidly in all spheres’
Baku, December 16 (AZERTAC). Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey are developing rapidly in all spheres, Turkish ambassador Hulusi Kilic told Friday journalists. The ambassador said the most successful event in relationship in 2011 was a meeting of the High Level Strategic Cooperation Council.
The ambassador highly appreciated the fact that Azerbaijan was the first country to send aid to Turkey, when an earthquake erupted in Van province. He added this fact demonstrates the level of fraternal relationship between the two countries. The ambassador thanked President Ilham Aliyev for the aid.
Kilic described Azerbaijan`s election as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council as one of the greatest achievements that the country gained during the 20-year period of its independence.
The ambassador noted “the Nagorno Karabakh conflict is our problem, as well”. He recalled Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan`s remarks in the meeting of the UN General Assembly, who underlined the necessity of settlement of this problem.
The diplomat also praised President Ihlam Aliyev`s support for Turkey in the fight against PKK terrorist organization.
