Reports regarding future development trends of global cities released at WUF13

As part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13) held in Baku, an event themed “Future Urbanization: How will Your City Change in the Next Decades” was held on May 19.
The UN's 2025 "World Urbanization Prospects" report was presented at the event, and comprehensive analyses regarding the future development trends of global cities were released. It was stated that while rapid population growth in some cities leads to overcrowding and housing shortages, a population decline is being observed in other cities.
Speaking at the session, experts emphasized that urbanization processes are closely linked to housing policy, land use, and urban planning. It was noted that taking shifting demands and demographic trends into account is essential for developing effective strategies for the future development of cities.
The event also highlighted that strengthening global cooperation is of paramount importance to achieving sustainable and inclusive urban development.
