SOCAR: Trade between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has increased 5 times

Ashgabat, March 30, AZERTAC

“The trade between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has increased five times since 2020,” said Vice President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) Elshad Nasirov at the International Oil and Gas Forum, held in Ashgabat.

Nasirov noted that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with the Caspian region countries. He said that Turkmen-Azerbaijani relations are bound together by centuries-old friendship, common culture and religion. “More than 100 documents on strategic partnership have been signed between the two countries.”

The Vice President also emphasized the signing on January 21, 2021 of the Memorandum of Understanding on joint exploration and development of the “Dostluq” hydrocarbon field in the Caspian Sea.
