THE PRESIDENT RECEIVES CHAIRMAN OF INPEX CORPORATION
Chairman of the Japanese Corporation expressed pleasure of meeting President Ilham Aliyev, reminding his meeting with the President of Azerbaijan two years ago. Mr. Matsuo said Azerbaijan develops quickly in the political, economic, social and other fields, and the country is on the path of progress, and we are pleased with this. The Azerbaijan-Japan Forum passed in high level, he stressed. We are especially pleased with your speech dealing with Azerbaijan’s strategy in relations to the neighboring countries, including the Caspian littoral states, and we consider the right policy. And Japan, though far away, is a close neighbor of Azerbaijan, he underlined. Opening of the Azerbaijan embassy in Tokyo last year gave impulse to bilateral relations.
The meetings, carried out negotiations in Japan will play significant role in expansion of the existent cooperation between two countries, President Ilham Aliyev said. Azerbaijan attaches great importance to cooperation with Japan. Activity of the Japanese companies in Azerbaijan promotes development of the relations between two states.
In the meeting, also discussed were a number of issues concerning realization of concrete projects the situation in region, and mony others of mutual interest.
