Turkmen delegation visits Azerbaijan`s Penitentiary Service
Baku, March 5 (AZERTAC). The Turkmen delegation including First Deputy Foreign Minister Vepa Hajiyev, Deputy Interior Minister Allamurat Hajiyev, and other officials visited the Penitentiary Service of Azerbaijan as part of working visit to Baku. They attended experience-sharing meetings co-organized by Azerbaijan`s Penitentiary Service and International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).
Azerbaijan`s Deputy Justice Minister, head of the penitentiary service Madat Guliyev informed the Turkmen delegation on the progress made in penitentiary system, progress achieved in execution of punishment as well as State Program on Development of Justice in Azerbaijan in 2009-2013. He also spoke of international relations of the Service, and highly praised cooperation between ICRC and the Azerbaijan`s Service.
Head of the Turkmen delegation Vepa Hajiyev provided information on the aims of the visit.
Head of the ICRC`s Azerbaijan mission Sherine Pollin highlighted effective cooperation between the sides.
The delegation also visited the Baku detention facility, specialized treatment center, and places of imprisonment.
