UN-Habitat, Alwaleed Philanthropies sign partnership agreement as part of WUF13

A partnership agreement was signed between UN-Habitat and Alwaleed Philanthropies during the 13th Session of the UN World Urban Forum (WUF13) in Baku, aimed at advancing inclusive housing solutions for persons with disabilities.
The agreement aims to advance inclusive and sustainable housing solutions for persons with disabilities. Tunisia’s Minister of Equipment and Housing, Salah Zouari, noted that it supports a pilot project to improve access to adequate housing through inclusive planning, accessible design, and tailored solutions.
Reem Mallawi, Executive Manager for Global Initiatives at Alwaleed Philanthropies, said the initiative will support capacity building and policy engagement to strengthen inclusive housing approaches in the region.
Aida Robbana, Head of UN-Habitat’s Tunisia Office, highlighted that the agreement will positively contribute to improving housing accessibility and the mental well-being of persons with disabilities in sustainable and inclusive cities.
Rania Hedeya, Regional Director of UN-Habitat’s Regional Office for Arab States, emphasized that the event provides an ideal platform for sharing experience and highlighting practical approaches to inclusive housing.
