US CHARGE D`AFFAIRES VISITS GANJA
Ganja, September 14 (AZERTAC). U.S. Charge d`Affaires in Azerbaijan Adam Sterling has made a trip Tuesday to the second largest city in Azerbaijan.
Following a meeting at the Ganja city administration. Sterling told journalists his aim is to learn more about the country and its cities and regions and Ganja is the first destination.
He expressed satisfaction with his meeting with Ganja governor Eldar Azizov as it helped him get information about the economy, history and people of the city.
Asked about appointment of US ambassador to Azerbaijan, he said hearings are underway and senate is to approve the candidacy nominated by President Barack Obama.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the diplomat noted Minsk Group co-chairs are working hard on the problem. The resolution of the conflict is a priority for President Barack Obama. The Secretary of State Hillary Clinton reaffirmed it during her meeting with President Ilham Aliyev here, he added.
Sterling visited the city library and American center established here with the support of the embassy.
