Vice President of Tongji University: Digital innovation strengthens sustainable construction

“Urban planning should also consider design approaches that are appropriate for the elderly, children, and people with disabilities. The goal is to prioritize usable and widely applicable solutions, rather than the most advanced technology,” Li Xiangning, Vice President of Tongji University in Shanghai, during the event titled “Buildings for the Future - Advancing the Climate-Housing Nexus through Digital Innovation” held as part of the WUF13.
“Extreme environments and new habitats focus on safe and sustainable construction in challenging conditions. As human activity expands, architecture is also evolving towards polar regions, underground spaces, low-altitude airspace, and even outer space such as the Moon and Mars. This requires adaptable engineering and reliable system solutions,” the Vice President of Tongji University noted.
