AUSTRIAN EMBASSY TO AZERBAIJAN OPENS
Baku, June 24 (AZERTAC). Austria has opened its Embassy to Azerbaijan. Austrian Foreign Minister Michael Spindelegger cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the Embassy.
Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and Information Technologies, Chairman of Azerbaijan-Austria Intergovernmental Commission Ali Abbasov conveyed the best wishes and congratulations of President Ilham Aliyev. Mr. Abbasov said opening of Austrian Embassy is a momentous event. He said Azerbaijan has established relations with Austria in different areas. Austria is a strategic partner of Azerbaijan in energy supply, Minister added.
Mr. Spindelegger said opening of the Austrian Embassy is evidence of actively developing bilateral relations. FM said Austrian businessmen are keen to cooperate with their Azerbaijani colleagues. Austria is keen to cooperate with Azerbaijan not only in energy sphere but also in other fields of economy, Minister underlined. He said aim of the opening of the Embassy was to expand relations with Azerbaijan in policy, economy, culture, education and tourism.
The event brought together officials from Azerbaijan and Austria and representatives of culture.
Austrian quartet “Minetti” performed the compositions of Haydn, Schubert and Beethoven.
