AZERBAIJAN-EU TALKS ON VISA RELAXATION TO START IN MID-JULY
Baku, June 19 (AZERTAC). Azerbaijan and European Union will commence talks on association agreement in mid-July, Deputy Foreign Minister Mahmud Mammadguliyev told journalists.
According to him, the chances of Baku`s hosting negotiations are good. The first technical meeting concerning official talks to sign the association agreement will be held on July 21 in Brussels. The talks will focus on the structure and principles of the agreement.
When asked about talks on relaxation of visa requirements between Azerbaijan and European Union, Mammadguliyev said TAXIS program held a technical seminar at the level of experts in Baku on June 17-18. The seminar discussed migration, relaxation of visa procedures, protection of borders.
“It is the first and serious step. We will start talks to relax visa regime shortly. Such negotiations can last a year or year and half and everything depends on how much is the work active,” he noted.
The agreement on readmission is also scheduled to be signed.
