AZERBAIJAN INVITED TO OPEC SUMMIT IN ALGERIA
Azerbaijan has been invited to attend upcoming Summit of OPEC to be held on December 17 in Oran, Algeria, Chakib Khelil, rotating President of OPEC (Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries), said Saturday, AZERTAC reports quoting AP. The other guest countries invited by the 14-member cartel are Oman, Russia and Syria.
Russia, the biggest non-OPEC exporter, is to send a delegation headed by Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin to the OPEC meeting in an effort to coordinate the oil cartel`s output cut to curb the rise in crude prices on the world market. Three other guest countries of Oman, Azerbaijan and Syria will also send their officials to the Oran meeting, according to the OPEC head.
