Azerbaijan`s higher education legislature discussed
Baku, January 31 (AZERTAC). A seminar titled “Evaluation of higher education legislature of Azerbaijan” conducted in the frame of EU`s TAIEX program took place at the Education Ministry of Azerbaijan.
The event attended by higher education experts, reps of international organizations and co-organized by Ministry of Education, Baku Sate University and the European Union was opened by Minister Misir Mardanov, who spoke of Azerbaijan`s integration in the European education space, in particular, the Bologna process.
As known, the purpose of the Bologna Process (or Bologna Accords) is creation of the European Higher Education Area by making academic degree standards.
The goal of the Baku seminar is, as stated, to conduct monitoring and evaluate Azerbaijan`s national education legislature from the point of view of its compliance with the Bologna standards.
Simultaneously, the workshop will focus the questions of accreditation of educational institutions and necessary teaching and training standard documents.
Jan de Groof, President of the European Association for Education Law and Policy (ELA), representative of the University of Antwerp, spoke of the importance of integration of Azerbaijan to the Bologna Process.
Representative from Sweden Lennart Stahl, from Finland Carl Holm spoke of importance of the expansion of educational ties and exchange of experience.
The seminar is to end on Feb 3.
