Azeri ambassador presents his letter of credence to US President
Baku, January 19 (AZERTAC). The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan Elin Suleymanov presented his letter of credence to President Barack Obama of the United States of America in an official ceremony held in the Oval Office of the White House Wednesday.
Welcoming the Ambassador, President Obama noted that Azerbaijan and the United States enjoy a long history of friendship and partnership based on a common agenda and clear shared interests. The President expressed the appreciation for Azerbaijan´s vital contributions to international security efforts, and characterized it as a key partner on energy security for the entire Euro-Atlantic community.
Ambassador Suleymanov emphasized Azerbaijan´s strong commitment to deepening and expanding bilateral relations and multi-faceted partnership between the two nations.
Elin Suleymanov was appointed by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev as Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the United States on October 26, 2011. Prior to that, he served as the Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Los Angeles.
