AZERI LIBRARIANS TO JOIN CRIMEA 2010 INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE
Baku, June 8 (AZERTAC). The 17th International Conference Crimea 2010, a world professional forum for leadership and staff of libraries, publishing houses, book trade business, museums, archives, information centers, universities, for business, law, scientific, cultural and educational organizations, kicked off in Crimea.
The Conference is held under the auspices of the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) - the main coordinating center of the world library community. Co-organizers include Russian National Public Library for Science and Technology, Ministries of Culture and Tourism of Ukraine and Russia, Russian and Ukrainian Library Associations, International Association of Users and Developers of Electronic Libraries and New Information Technologies (ELNIT), and other organizations. ELNIT board will be elected. Over 25 libraries from Azerbaijan including Ministry of Culture and Tourism are members of the ELNIT.
The event will bring together 2 thousand participants from 130 countries. Azerbaijan will be represented by the staffers of President`s Library, Library of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Baku American Center, Jabbarli National Youth Library and Kojarli National Children`s Library.
The Conference constantly focuses on the question of creating and functioning of e-libraries, corporate library and information systems; key problems of modern library and information science; ecological information; the work of school and children`s libraries; the role of libraries in maintaining modern information and educational technologies.
The conference will wrap up on June 12.
