BRUSSELS TO HOST ROUNDTABLE ON EU AND CASPIAN REGION - STRATEGY SELECTION
Baku, June 4 (AZERTAC). A roundtable meeting under the theme “The European Union and the Caspian Region - strategy selection” will be held in Brussels, Belgium next Monday as part of the Trans-Caspian political platform project.
The Director of the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of Azerbaijan will be a keynote speaker at the event.
The meeting will be attended by Senior Consultant of the European Policy Centre and Chairman of the Trans-Caspian political platform Borut Grgik, EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel, member of the European Parliament Evgeni Kirilov, Director of the Institute of Silk Road Svante Cornell, the Caspian regional manager for the Austrian oil company (OMV) Wolfgang Sporrer and head of the Kazakh mission to the EU, Ambassador Erik Utembayev.
The aim of the event is to create new, more dynamic EU policy in the Caspian region.
The meeting participants will discuss a number of issues, including modern geopolitics of the Caspian-South Caucasus region, regional cooperation, energy security, settlement of regional conflicts and attraction of more investments.
The event was co-organized by the King Baudouin Foundation and Sao Paolo Company.
