CE REVERED MEMORY OF PRESIDENT HEYDAR ALIYEV
Characterizing President Heydar Aliyev as an outstanding personality, he noted that under the leadership of this genius man was established stability in the Republic, made special efforts and contributions to the integration of Azerbaijan to the European family, in particular, in admission to the Council of Europe, and stated that shares sorrow of the people of Azerbaijan.
Speaking on behalf of the “Ago” monitoring group of the Committee of Ministers, permanent representative of Italy, Ambassador P. Ago expressed to the Azerbaijani people his deep sympathy. He shared his kind recollections on the meeting with President Heydar Aliyev during his visit to Azerbaijan, highly assessing the decisive role of this personality in the success reached in the country on path of democracy. Mr. Ago wished to President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev success in his activity.
Permanent representative of Azerbaijan at the Council of Europe Ambassador Agshin Mehdiyev expressed gratitude for sympathy in connection with the heavy loss of the Azerbaijani people, appreciating warm words told on the genius leader of Azerbaijan.
On the same day, returning from his London visit, the Secretary General of the Council of Europe Walter Schwimmer visited permanent representation of Azerbaijan and made notes in the mourning book sincere condolence to the people of Azerbaijan on the passing of President Heydar Aliyev.
