CHINA KEEN IN DEVELOPMENT OF RELATIONS WITH AZERBAIJAN
‘China was one of the first states to recognize state independence of Azerbaijan. And Azerbaijan appreciates support by the official Beijing of the country’s territorial integrity’, he underlined.
Speaking of the history of friendly relations between two countries, Ogtay Asadov especially marked the role of the heads of state in development of these connections. He, in particular, said the ‘visit of the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev to China in 1994 and signed documents had created a legal base for expansion of these ties. President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to China was a new phase in development of bilateral relations. Today, the trade turnover between two countries has reached 259 million dollars. There are plenty opportuntities to expand economic links and rise trade turnover’, he emphasized.
Ambassador Czhan Haizhzou conveyed the greetings of U. Bango, chairman of the All-China People Representatives Permanent Committee. ‘After regaining state independence, Azerbaijan has developed quickly and holds worthy position in the world community’ he said. ‘We assess support of the official Baku of the position of China in a number of questions. And China will do the utmost to widen all-round ties with Azerbaijan’.
The sides had comprehensive exchange of views on a number of other issues of mutual interest.
