CONSTRUCTION OF UNIQUE ZOO TO START NEXT YEAR IN BAKU
Baku, September 18 (AZERTAC). The construction of the region`s second-to-none zoo will start next year in Baku, Director General of Turkey`s Ekodenge consulting company Zeynep Yotmem told Yeni Azerbaijan newspaper as the company presented zoo construction project at the environmental exhibition here.
She pointed out the company has already drawn up the project of Shahdag and Ordubad national parks. Ekodenge is also responsible for the World Bank-funded waste management project.
She pointed out the master plan will be competed in May next year. It will be followed by a tender to build the zoo.
The zoo will cover the area of 55 hectares in the Gobu settlement. It is going to be a unique full-function animal park in terms of number of animals and services provided. She believes the park will give a boost to tourism development in the country.
Famous specialists from Australia, Singapore, South Africa, England, Austria, Germany and other countries were involved to prepare the project.
The zoo will be completely different from the old one.
Trainings will be organized for zoo employees.
