DAILY OIL PRODUCTION FROM “CHIRAG-1” REACHED 19 THOUSAND TONS

According to the SOCAR president Natig Aliyev, daily oil production from the “Chirag-1” platform has come to 19 thousand tons. Construction of the platforms to develop the Central, Western, and Eastern parts of the “Azeri” oilfield has been sped up and it will be put into operation since late 2004.

The oil extraction in “Markazi Azeri” will commence since January 2005, in “Garbi Azeri” – April 2006, in “Shargi Azeri” – February 2007 and in “Guneshli” deepwater field – July 2008. Thus, the volume of oil production from those oilfields will reach 1 million barrels per day, or 50 million barrels per year.
