DELEGATION OF AZERBAIJAN TAKES PART IN KABUL CONFERENCE
US University in associate with the Institute of World Economy and Policy of Kazakhstan, on the topic “Partnership, trade and development in Great Central Asia”. The Conference was attended by minister of foreign affairs of Kazakhstan Kasimjlomart Tokayev, minister of trade of Afghanistan Idayet Amin Arsala, president of the Central Asia and Caucasus Institute Frederick Starr, aide to the Secretary of State on South and Central Asia affairs Richard Boucher, ambassador of USA to Afghanistan Ronald Neumann, a number of scholars, experts, and diplomats.
Ambassador E. Madatli addressed to opening of conference, also has been heard the report of graduate of the Georgetown University from Azerbaijan Taleh Ziyadov working at School of External Relations of this University, on the topic “Azerbaijan in the East-West and North-South transport corridors”.
Ambassador of Azerbaijan met with militaries serving in staff of peacemaking contingent in Afghanistan. Commander of military unit colonel Ahmed Topdagi expressed satisfaction with service of the Azerbaijani militaries.
On 2 April, chairman of the low chamber of Afghanistan Parliament Yunis Ganuni received the Azeri ambassador and requested to convey to the President of Azerbaijan and Speaker of Azerbaijan Parliament particular greetings, spoke of the re-established parliament of country. He stressed importance of establishing inter-parliamentary links. Ambassador Madatli handed over the invitation of Chairman of the Milli Majlis Ogtay Asadov to visit Azerbaijan. The invitation was accepted.
Ambassador also held meetings in the Foreign Ministry of Afghanistan. In the meetings, discussed were the relations between foreign ministries of two countries, as well as the questions connected to Afghanistan’s participation at the summit of the heads of states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and session of the foreign ministers of countries of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) in Baku.
